I love jackets and blazers but unfortunately we don’t have the weather for it here in Nigeria because it’s mostly warm or hot days and the cold doesn’t really call for the heavy pieces but during the harmattan and cool summer days this can be worn because it’s lighter than the usual jacket.
This is the Afro Chic jacket from my 2015 Collection where i showcased at Abuja Fashion Week, i styled it on the model with ripped jeans to give it that edgy look i love.
The second look i create was over our tribal print dress to show there is nothing like too much print if it’s done right.
The third look a friend of mine Zainab bought a pair and sent me a picture of how she styled it, I love how she did it because it further shows the versatility of the jacket from modest to vampy depending on how you feel.
So what do you guys think any wonderful styling tips i can try out will love to hear your suggestions.
Today it’s Simi’s turn, i actually heard the name loved it and decided to honor it with a lovely piece hence the birth of Simi.
Simi is a high waisted skirt with pockets and a high low hem which gives it that simple edgy look i love so much without trying so hard.
Someone commented on my last post about pairing trendy pieces for the office with a white crisp button down which i love so i decided to pair the Simi skirt and i loved the effect, what do you guys think any major suggestions?
Disclaimer only the skirt is mine.
I really love fashion you should hear me talk about it i get so excited, my eyes lit up and i can go on for hours discussing the structure, cut, fluidity, intricate beading or embroidery of a particular garment it gives me such a rush.
I remember when i was in secondary school how i always use to sketch at the back of my notes that even upto today my friends still remind me of those days. I have the passion what i need now is more knowledge and experience which is something I’m planning for in the near future but for now i learn slowly before it comes.
Early this year i got to design a few pieces and this happened to be one of them, this is when i am my most happiest creating a whole look i got a friend of mine beadsbykuby to make some jewellery that compliments the dress because it had silver threads woven into the fabric i thought that shade of beads was spot on. I knew i wanted minimal makeup which my friend mdazzle was able to achieve and the lovely Mimi brought my creation to life.
This was one of my happiest moments this year because i never thought i will be in this position of making my dreams come true gradually it makes me so hopeful for the future.
Actually this was what i wore on sunday when i went to see my friend Aisha, the weather was fabulous and cool that day so i opted for a Polka-dot empire maxi dress that i designed, i usually don’t like any shade of green but i love this emerald colour it has a certain maturity about it that i like. I decided to give it a pop of colour with this really really light bolero. I had a really comfy outing if i might say.
Obsessed with the colour on that pants i feel you can literally just show up anywhere in them. Lol
This was a comment i made a week ago on http://www.haniiiifa.com in regards to her post ART X FASHION X CULTURE .She wore a really sick blue wide leg pants that i loved because i have been obsessing over them lately, i have been planning to make a pair for myself but i have been so busy lately.
The wide leg pants is a trend i can get on board with, it’s quite comfortable, looks classy with flats or heels and it goes from day to night. Give me a pair of free pants, skirts or dress and we are friends, fitted pieces are ok but just like there are cheat days in dieting so also in fashion.
Ps. I really do feel you can show up in them anywhere.
