I have been on the road lately hence the awful stress pimples I am now spotting all over my face so I decided to do a little beauty treatment shopping starting with this neutrogena grapefruit face wash, I usually use it but i have never used this flavour before i love the fruity smell of it.
The lady at the counter recommended the cleanser for my whiteheads I seem to get that alot i don’t know why.
I’m not really a cream girl i use anything I get my hand on but she said this moisturises so I will give it a try and see will let you guys know.
Finally i recommend a body scrub at least twice a month for the busy bees and budget freaks like me where a spa appointment is not in the months to do list and a bath & body works mist I chose this because of it’s light fragrance on the body.
What are your favourite beauty regimes I am up for trying them out so let me know.. Xoxo
The colour pink has different shades to it, we have pale, dusk, hot and so much more. Personally pale pink makes me look washed out I’m more of a hot pink kind of girl hence this HOLMA DESIGNS (my brand) shirt dress in this colour.
I find this so flattering, one can pair it with heels, flats, belts, hats and so much more. The versatility of the shirt dress in this colour is endless. The tiny button details and the gold buttons on the sleeve give that vintage vibe.
I paired mine with this turquoise sand beads statement necklace a friend got for me from the arts and crafts village opposite Sheraton hotel Abuja. I also got my really old black belt to go with it, you can see how much I love it from the looks of it.
Finally I cap it off with my prized possession because I love it so much my sparkly clutch from pink fleur don’t you just love it.
I bet you thought it was some lame boring post about the Web well think again.. It’s none other than Sophia Webster!!!
She is colours, fun and girly personified, her shoes are statement pieces, I recommend outfits in basic colours like black, white, nude, and ash so if you wear a pair your legs should do the talking nothing else.
I always tell my friends I was a stylist in another life which they always laugh at, but i like to think so thou (sigh I wish).
Let me introduce you to today’s OOTD the HOLMA FLORAL KIMONO with plain black neck and sleeve edge, I opted for the chiffon fabric because of it’s light and breezy feel with black background covered in gorgeous vibrant colours which i love, you can use a red or orange lip which is hot right now.
I fell in love with the fabric at first sight and a kimono came to mind immediately, the drape of it will look fabulous.
I decided to pair it with this long black textured skirt i made sometimes back and a black tank slip, nothing bulky underneath because I want the focus on the print. Minimal jewellery with a gold strand pearl to give it that easy bohemian look.
Lastly i saw this Dolce and Gabbana bag off the net Why? Because I can’t afford the real one oh well life moves on i guess, a red ruby woo Mac lipstick and strappy heels.
With this look where will your destination be? Mine will be a weekend lunch with my lovely girlfriends.
I remember when I did my first mini professional fashion shoot for my line, i told myself I will love to write about it because it was such an awesome day and it made me realise I love what I do.
As a starter my budget was tight so I had to look for those who were fairly starting out like me, the model was a beautiful lady called mimi we hit it off immediately because she was so down to earth, I called up a makeup artist friend of mine Murja of Mdazzle Makeovers and she was on board and we got a newbie photographer like us.
We started the day by planning outfits, styling to see what works best, the makeup was really light and beautiful, a good friend of mine also allowed us to graciously use her beautiful home which was a blessing, I remember cupcakes, drinks and snacks making the rounds it was such a fun lovely day I can’t wait for the next one. Here are a few behind the scenes pictures from that day..
The hollandais vlisco fabrics are everything.. I never took notice of them until recently when vlisco started styling, mixing and matching there fabrics.
We Nigerians, especially from the north tend to sow two piece outfits with one fabric there is nothing wrong with that since it’s sort of expensive but I love how they use different fabrics to create different pieces.
Along Ahmadu Bello way near Efab Plaza vlisco has a billboard where every month new fabrics and styles are displayed. I used to take pictures and post on instagram but I haven’t done that in a while now.
Here a few pictures from there new collection.
Growing up we go through certain phases from our teenage years to adulthood where we realize something about us has changed.
So I woke up today and I realized I have changed again. I no longer have the strength to deal with people who don’t care about me as much as I do, plus I can’t agrue with fools because you just end up looking like one.
The debate over stripes has always been a two way argument, on the one hand we have those that can’t stand it while on the other hand we have those that live for it and I happened to be one of those so heyy!!! A post on stripes.
Stripes usually tend to be worn horizontally or vertically but with the revolution of fashion over time designers have now found a way to strategically give it different looks that’s flattering to the body. Here are a few looks on how one can incorporate the stripes into their wardrobe. Enjoy xoxo
This first picture has vintage vibe written all over it, a retro shot what better way than to cap it off with a stripes pants.
Here it is reflected in a shirt dress and a red detail off shoulder retro dress.
For those trying to ease into it, this has a perfect mix with a neutral colour and is incorporated in small doses.
I say yes to the monochrome stripe blazer.. Why? Because it complements almost every outfit, colour and it’s like a go to piece.
Small doses like this ballet flats.
A minimalist dream, love this high neck with long sleeve plus the retro glasses gives it that le chic look.
This Altuzarra RTW 2015 skirt and blouse shows how stripes are manipulated to appear more flattering giving it edge & style.
I love anything that resembles a kimono and with stripes sign me up. Tome RTW 2015.
